Are you going to judge the state of my books?

No. Cleaning up books someone was embarrassed about is a normal Tuesday here. The only bad move is leaving them another year.

Do I have to sign up for monthly bookkeeping after?

No. Roll into monthly service if you want it to never pile up again, or take the clean books and run them yourself. The cleanup stands on its own.
