You're not the worst I've seen. I promise.
I'm not going to lie: cleaning up messy books isn't fun. It's also half of how I spent my years in public practice. At the local firm where I worked with small and medium-sized businesses, we'd show up for year-end and spend half the job fixing the books before we could even start. Now I just skip straight to the fixing.
Behind three months or three years, a DIY setup that drifted, a bookkeeper who disappeared mid-year. I've seen all of it. The books don't care how they got messy, and neither do I. They just need to get fixed.
Graeme was able to migrate 18 years of Quickbooks desktop information flawlessly over to Quickbooks Online. After migration, ongoing training and support helped immensely. Graeme was patient, professional and informative. I have already recommended his services to others.
Four steps. One fixed number.
The look
Free. You give me read-only access to your books, and I size up what's actually there: months behind, accounts unreconciled, filings owed.
The quote
One fixed number for the whole cleanup, in writing, before anything starts. No hourly meter, and the number holds.
The cleanup
Every transaction categorized, every account reconciled, and outstanding GST/PST filings caught up.
The fresh start
Roll into monthly Essentials so it never piles up again, or take the clean books and run them yourself. Your call.
Slide to your number.
Priced per month behind, and the rate drops the deeper we go, because the first months carry all the setup:
- First 3 months $1,000 / month
- Months 4 to 6 $750 / month
- Months 7 to 12 $500 / month
- Beyond a year Custom quote
Minimum engagement is $2,500. Whatever the count, you get one fixed number in writing before we start. If it takes me longer than I guessed, that's my problem, not yours.
If any of these is you, you're in the right place.
The drawer of receipts
You've been meaning to catch up since spring. Possibly last spring. The pile stopped being funny a while ago.
The DIY that drifted
QuickBooks made sense in year one. Somewhere between hiring and GST, the categories stopped meaning anything.
The ghosted
Your bookkeeper vanished, retired, or handed back something you can't make sense of. Somebody has to pick it up properly.
Asked by everyone who was behind.
How long does a cleanup take?
Depends how many months and how many accounts we're untangling. I'll give you a timeline with the quote. Most cleanups run a few weeks, not months.
What does it cost?
Priced per month behind: the first three months run $1,000 each, months four to six $750, months seven to twelve $500, and beyond a year gets a custom quote. Minimum engagement is $2,500. The estimator above does the arithmetic for you.
Whatever the count, you get one fixed number in writing before we start. If it takes me longer than I guessed, that's my problem, not yours. Heavier files (high volume, multiple accounts) get quoted up front too.
Are you going to judge the state of my books?
No. Cleaning up books someone was embarrassed about is a normal Tuesday here. The only bad move is leaving them another year.
Do I have to sign up for monthly bookkeeping after?
No. Roll into monthly Essentials if you want it to never pile up again, or take the clean books and run them yourself. The cleanup stands on its own.
What about missed GST/PST filings?
Once the books are rebuilt, the outstanding returns get prepared and filed from real numbers. If penalties are already in play, you'll at least stop the meter and know exactly where you stand.
Send me the mess. Seriously.
The free look takes one conversation, and you'll know the size of the fix by the end of the week.
